Cutting the Cake
Everyone likes birthdays. They’re a chance to invite friends over and enjoy time together. They are a time of encouraging speeches and presents. They are also a time for reflection - looking back and seeing the story of the previous year.
For us, our 4th birthday anniversary party was all this and more. We had the privilege of having precious guests share in our joy over all that has happened since we first began here in July 2004.
Guests included representatives of the Department of Education, many local charities, volunteers, people who have donated goods, businesses who support the work, and Malcolm and Sally Begbie, International Directors of Crossroads Foundation (www.crossroads.org.hk).
It’s been a wonderful 4 years. The party gave us an opportunity to together appreciate - through speeches, photos and stories – just how many lives have been touched in different ways since Crossroads started here in Shymkent.
As the work continues to grow and diversify, we are excited about what the next 4 years have in store.
